Papers (copies), 1829-1932 (scattered). Papers includes the correspondence of Rev. P. S. Dejean, L'Arbre Croche, Michigan Territory, to Rev. Frederick Rese, Vicar General, Cincinnati Diocese, 1829-1830, in German with the English translations; Erkens' notes concerning Harbor Springs (Mich.), Holy Childhood Indian School, and obituaries he wrote for other priests, 1883, 1893, 1896, 1910, 1912-1918; programs for holy day festivals, undated; an annual diocesan report, 1915; a school report, 1892-1893; newspaper clippings, 1878-1918, and an article by Erkens entitled "A saintly Indian maiden", which was published in the May 1923 issue of the Franciscan Herald (2 p.). The Clarke Historical Library also has a separately cataloged centennial report (copy) of Holy Child of Jesus Church and School, 1829-1929, by Erkens.
